Advertising funds the materials we destroy while testing repairs, the photography, and the time it takes to repeat a method until it is honest. This page explains how the commercial side of DecorPatch works, for readers and for brands.

For readers

Advertising never affects editorial judgement. No advertiser can commission a favourable method, see a draft before publication, or choose which pages carry their campaign. Sponsored material is labelled at the top of the item. We accept campaigns from DIY, decorating, tools, building-materials, home-improvement and general consumer brands; we decline tobacco, weapons, unlicensed gambling, and products whose safety claims we could not defend.

Formats available

  • Display – leaderboard, medium rectangle and wide skyscraper positions, served through our programmatic partner in standard IAB sizes plus responsive units.
  • Sponsored project or method article – a written, photographed guide developed with the brand, tested in our workshop, published in our voice, and marked as sponsored.
  • Newsletter placement – a single sponsor slot in our project email, which reaches readers who asked to receive it.
  • In-guide product credit – a specific filler, paint, tool or tile product named inside an existing guide, subject to editorial approval and honest use in the job.
  • Affiliate partnerships – product links that earn a commission on a purchase, disclosed in the article body.

Audience

DecorPatch readers arrive with a specific problem: a hole to fill before a move-out, a floorboard that creaks, a chip in a bathroom tile, a patch of paint that flashes under raking light. They are homeowners, renters restoring deposits, landlords and letting agents, and professional decorators looking up a method. Intent is high, and the season peaks around moving months, spring refresh and pre-inspection deadlines.

Standards

We will not publish claims that conflict with product labelling or building regulations, we do not promote work that hides a hazard – covering damp, boxing a cracked load-bearing element, or sanding an unidentified coating – and we reserve the right to end a campaign that readers reasonably experience as misleading.
